(Serves 6-8)

Crust:

  • 1¼ cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt 2% milk fat
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • granulated garlic optional, for sprinkling
  • olive oil optional, for drizzling

Pizza Toppings: (use the toppings of your choice but the following are what I used)

  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 cup marinara sauce (no sugar added such as Rao)
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 oz of fresh mozzarella balls cut in half
  • 1/4 cup uncured pepperoni or turkey pepperoni
  • 1/4  cup whole, pitted black olives
  • Mushrooms, sliced
  • Vine tomatoes, halved
  • Fresh basil, added after pizza is completely baked

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together whole wheat flour, baking powder, and salt. Add in the Greek yogurt and mix with a spoon until a sandy dough forms.
  3. Next, using clean hands, gently knead the dough until a dough ball forms. Transfer to a clean surface with a sprinkle of the whole wheat flour. Continue kneading for just a few minutes until the dough ball feels stable and smooth.
  4. Divide the ball into 2 equal parts for individual pizzas, or leave as is for one large pizza. Use a rolling pin on the floured surface and roll the dough to your desired thickness.
  5. Add to a parchment lined baking sheet with a drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of granulated garlic. Bake at 350 degrees F for 12-14 minutes.
  6. Remove the crust from the oven. Add your sauce, shredded mozzarella and the rest of your desired toppings. Bake again until the toppings are warm/melted. Approximately 6-8 minutes.
