(Serves 2)

 Ingredients:

  • ⅔ cup whole wheat flour (or durum wheat)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ⅓ cup Greek yogurt

Toppings:

  • 1 tsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp cilantro or parsley, chopped
  • ½ tsp garlic, minced

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour and baking powder until combined well.
  2. Add yogurt and mix with the hook attachment of a hand mixer, or using a spoon followed by hand. If you find that your dough is too dry you can add a tsp of water at a time.
  3. Divide kneaded dough into 2 even sections and transfer to a lightly floured surface.
  4. Roll each piece until about ¼” thick and 7-8” long.
  5. Heat a nonstick skillet on medium-high, and place naan on it once heated.
  6. Cook one side for about 1½ minutes, then flip over.
  7. Brush ½ tsp of melted butter onto the cooked side and sprinkle with ¼ tsp garlic and ½ tsp cilantro or parsley on top.
  8. Let the underside cook for another 1½ minutes. Naan should fluff up and be slightly charred.
  9. Flip again and cook for a few seconds so toppings stick to the bread and enjoy.
